Histories of Colour

The history you didn’t learn in school

Histories of Colour is a social media project that aims bring non-white history, colonial oppression, and racial inequality to the attention of the general public. In doing so, it hopes to encourage sensitivity and compassion towards the struggles faced by people of colour today.

The creator, Carissa Chew, is a History PhD Student and Graduate Assistant at the University of Hawai‛i at Mānoa. After graduating with a first class undergraduate degree in English Literature and History from the University of Edinburgh, Carissa completed an MPhil in World History at the University of Cambridge.
